Mariagrazia has lived with extremely sensitive and reactive skin since early childhood, characterized by dermatitis, intolerances and redness. This discomfort pushed her towards science, leading her to graduate in Biological Sciences in 1984. Her career developed in innovative fields, from experimental oncology at the Tumor Institute of Milan, to microbiology at the University of Milan, dedicating thirty years to teaching, until conducting independent studies in Cosmetological Cytology, deepening the study of epidermal cells and liposomes.
In 1996, Mariagrazia experienced a turning point. Her very sensitive skin found no relief with existing cosmetic formulations, and she herself states: “I tried and tried various free-of formulations, but without success. I could have taken antihistamines and cortisone to calm the discomfort, but as a biologist I chose to listen to my skin and understand what it wanted to tell me”.
Her studies reveal the potential of phospholipids, plant extracts that are biocompatible with epidermal cell membranes. This raw material, already widely used in the pharmacological field, promotes cell regeneration and protects the integrity of the hydrolipidic barrier. A brilliant intuition leads Mariagrazia to combine phospholipids with glucosamine, a precursor of hyaluronic acid, creating the Fospidina Complex, now present in high concentration in SKINIUS products, in particular in FOSPID Active Serum .
In 1998 Mariagrazia started a small production destined for specialized medical centers, but it was in 2008 that she officially founded SKINIUS, making Fospidina accessible to everyone. The brand was born with a pioneering spirit, placing dermatology at the center of every development.
